We are the Lions and the Crocodiles
What a busy half term, we have really enjoyed finding out about Healthy Living. We sorted food into the 5 food groups and now understand the need for a balanced diet. We all looked in our lunchboxes and checked we had something from each food group. Everyone drew a picture of a healthy lunch and tried to include healthy food that we enjoy.
Our history topic was very interesting as we found out about Florence Nightingale and the changes she made in medicine and about Mary Seagrove who was not as well known but also worked hard to change conditions in hospitals.
We asked the children what they liked about the topics this half term.
"I quite enjoyed studying about Florence Nightingale and how she helped the soldiers, I like learning about olden times." - Jack

"I enjoy Maths in Year 2 because it helps me do numbers." - Arujan
"I liked doing the sunflower pictures in art because I felt like a real artist." - Ellie
"I liked learning how to keep healthy because it is important." - Nikita
"I liked writing stories because it gives me more ideas." - Shamin
We are all looking forward to our last term at Ashbrook and working very hard in Year 2.
