We
have really enjoyed the first half of the summer term.
We
have learnt all about growth and plants and everyone has been checking
the growth of our beans and sunflowers.
Our
caterpillars turned into cocoons and we let the butterflies go once they
had hatched out.
The
trip to M.K.Art gallery and the sculpture walk was a fabulous day for
everyone and the art work which has come from this day has been of a
very high standard. Everyone has enjoyed using clay and making the
modroc statue. Please come and look at all the work which is now
displayed in year 2 shared area and along the corridor. The half term
ended with our country dancing afternoon and all the parents enjoyed
watching the dances and joining in at the end. Next half term our topic
Full of Life will focus on growth once more but we will look more
closely at minibeasts, insects and various pond creatures.
Our
trip to Emberton on 30th June will also have many activities
where we can look at minibeasts in their natural habitats.
We
also have many transfer activities for the children before they move on
to the next school. We talked to some year 2 children about the clubs
they do in school and this was the feedback they gave us.
