Welcome toThe Year One Web PageWe are the Leopards
Our
topic this half term is See
How they Grow This
half term we are looking at how things grow.
We are looking at the different parts of plants and their
similarities and differences. We
are carrying out experiments to see what conditions a plant needs to grow
and also taking part in a competition to see which class can grow the
tallest sunflower. As an
extension of this we hope to visit the local allotments to see a range of
fruit and vegetables growing. We
are looking at how important farms are in the production of food. We
are planning to visit Mead Open Farm which is a fun day out as well as
being informative. We will
have the chance to feed goats, sheep, cows and pigs.
Please inform us if your child has any allergies to animals or
plants. We
will invite parents in towards the end of term to our usual Sports Day
activities which we all enjoy. We
plan a number of transition sessions for us to visit our new teachers and
classrooms. We are looking
forward to the Summer holidays and beginning in year 2 in September. Things
