Notes
for Voluntary Helpers in Ashbrook School
Welcome
to Ashbrook School and thank you for offering to help in school.
The
following points are for your information:
•
Please join us for coffee/tea in the Staff Room at mid-morning break (10.40
– 10.55 am)
•
Coat hooks are available in the visitors/ladies toilet. Gentlemen should
use the visitor’s toilet
•
Handbags should be kept in the home base cupboards for security reasons
(see your child’s teacher)
•
For fire and security reasons, please sign the visitor’s book situated
in the School Office when you arrive and leave
•
We ask that you only work with the children as indicated by the class
teacher. Other children may ask for spelling of words, help with a sum,
asking for ideas etc – please direct them to their teacher
•
If you are unsure about how to share a book with children, please ask
the teacher
•
Confidentiality is very important. We do ask for your assistance in keeping
confidential information regarding individual children’s progress
or behaviour
•
If a child’s behaviour gives cause for concern please inform the
teacher immediately. We do expect our children to behave with care and
concern for others. There is an expectation that children look after equipment
and pack away materials that they have been working with
•
Do inform us of any special talents that you may have
•
If possible, please let the school know if you are unable to help so that
the class teacher can make alternative arrangements
•
We positively recognise and value our children and we ask that you share
and support our caring philosophy
•
Do enjoy your time in school. Please talk to the teacher about any queries
that may arise before, or after, the session
• We value your help and want you to come again NEXT WEEK!
Thank you.
