Ashbrook
Computer Club
In
our computer club the aim is to introduce children to 'What else can we
use a computer for'. All children now have access to a computer at school
and most have one at home, but do they know what else a computer can be
used for? They know that they can use one to write, print what they have
typed and most have played games on one. Our aim is to introduce them
to the internet, making animated drawings, understand what the parts of
a computer are called, inside (what does a hard drive look like) as well
as outside (what dose a scanner do), the different types of media you
can store information on (from floppy drives to hard drives to rewritable
CD-roms). But overall our aim is for children to have more fun through
the understanding of all that can be done with a computer.
Below
are a couple of examples of animated drawings done by children in our club,
with a program called 2animate.
